Submission referenced by UN Special Rapporteur on AI and counter-terrorism
The UN Special Rapporteur on Counter-Terrorism Professor Ben Saul has published a new position paper: Protecting Human Rights while Using Artificial Intelligence to Counter Terrorism āĀ a realy interesting read on how to ensure AI systems protect rather than endanger rights.
I’m really proud to see my submission referenced in there. I argued for a proactively designed system for authenticity and preservation ā that without cryptographic data integrity, we simply cannot have accountability. It’s validating to see this line of thinking picked up at this level, and echoing the research the Starling Lab have been doing.
Read my submission in full on the UN website, and more about the mandate of the Special Rapporteur.
